The right is wrong

April 5, 2009

Today’s gospel comes to us from Christian right-winger E. Ray Moore by way of Steve Benen at Washington Monthly.

Moore, founder of the South Carolina-based Exodus Mandate, which encourages Christian education and home schooling, thinks the Christian right is imploding. Notes Benen:

“It’s hard to admit defeat, but this one was self-inflicted,” he wrote in an e-mail. “Yes, Dr. Dobson and the pro-family or Christian right political movement is a failure; it would have made me sad to say this in the past, but they have done it to themselves.”

Pray!, indeed

The Bibleburg Gaslight reports that Christian publisher NavPress put a bunch of brethren and sistren on the streets last week and will cease publishing its magazines Discipleship Journal and Pray!

With Focus on the Fambly laying ‘em off, too, it seems that before much longer the only local outlet for discredited and outmoded philosophies will be (wait for it) the Gaslight.
